Occupational therapy is a rewarding profession that makes an impact and change in the lives of people. It is a dynamic profession that balances both the arts and sciences when it comes to creating meaning in people’s lives.
It is one of the recognised allied health professionals under the Allied Health Professional Council (AHPC). In order to be a fully registered therapist in Singapore, one will need to have undergone training and education through a university recognised by AHPC. It will then be followed by a 1 year or 2 years of supervision under AHPC.
Occupational therapists in Singapore can either be trained overseas or locally. Currently, Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) is the only local university with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational therapy. It is recognised by World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT).
