What Is The Career Progression For OT?

Occupational therapists play a variety of clinical roles in both the acute and community sector, serving clients of all age groups. From optimising function, caregiver training to safe discharge planning in the acute setting to early childhood intervention, vocational pursuit and assisted living within the community. The skillsfuture framework for healthcare career pathway which is effective from October 2018 was an initiative developed for the Singapore workforce to promote skills mastery and lifelong learning, and is an integral component of the Healthcare Industry Manpower Plan. It was jointly developed by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), Workforce Singapore (WSG), and the Ministry of Health (MOH), together with industry associations, training providers, organisations and unions, the Skills Framework for Healthcare provides useful information on:

  • Sector information;
  • Career pathways;
  • Occupations and job roles;
  • Existing and emerging skills; and
  • Training programmes for skills upgrading and mastery.
