Practice Guidelines

The Singapore Association of Occupational Therapy (SAOT) develops evidence-based clinical practice guidelines to guide occupational therapists in their clinical reasoning and clinical practice. These guidelines are developed through collaboration with different clinical expertise from different clinical settings to systematically review research evidence and provide recommendation to support the clinical practice in Singapore in different clinical areas.

Practice Guidelines may be used in the following ways:

  • To provide occupational therapists with the summary of current evidence-based practices and the effectiveness of various interventions
  • To assist occupational therapy practitioners in providing evidence-based interventions
  • To provide recommendation for occupational therapists to support their current clinical practices
  • To assist researchers in determining areas for future research and gathering background research on a topic of interest.
