We are delighted to announce the launch of the SAOT Prescribing Powered Mobility Aids – Practice Guidelines for Occupational Therapists in Singapore (2026)!
As regulations surrounding mobility scooters evolve, including the introduction of the Certificate of Medical Need and the new 6 km/h speed limit, occupational therapists play an increasingly important role in ensuring that powered mobility aids (PMAs) are prescribed safely, appropriately and effectively.
Building on the 2018 edition, these updated guidelines provide practical, evidence-informed recommendations to support occupational therapists in assessing, prescribing, training and reviewing PMA use across acute, community, intermediate and long-term care settings.
